SCFCU Supports Members Facing Terminal Illness Through TriUnity Foundation
In partnership with the TriUnity Foundation, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is proud to announce that it has awarded $95,000 in financial relief grants to 23 individuals and families nationwide who are facing terminal illness.
These grants were made possible thanks to the generous support of SCFCU, Altra Federal Credit Union, Mazuma Credit Union, SharePoint Credit Union and Cornerstone League.
The donations are part of TriUnity Foundation’s latest giving cycle thanks to the support of the participating credit unions and donors from the Foundation’s Light the Way Gala in March. The funds provide much-needed relief for individuals navigating terminal diagnoses—covering essential costs and helping restore peace of mind.
“This partnership is a meaningful extension of the credit union philosophy—people helping people,” said SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer. “Our members are more than account numbers. When they face life’s hardest seasons, we want them to know their credit union stands with them.”
Making a Human Impact
Through the TriUnity Foundation, credit union members across the country can apply for financial support when faced with a terminal illness diagnosis. The application is reviewed by a medical advisory committee, with awards determined based on need, diagnosis, and family impact.
“When a member is overwhelmed by medical and financial burdens, a grant like this is more than money—it’s hope,” said TriUnity Foundation Board Chair LeAnn Case. “These aren’t faceless donations. These are real people in our communities—our neighbors, our members. This is exactly why we exist.”
SCFCU encourages other credit unions to explore participating in future TriUnity Foundation grant cycles. This initiative is part of a growing nationwide movement within the credit union industry to care for members beyond their financial needs—especially in life’s most difficult moments. In addition to helping members in crisis, this proactive support can strengthen member trust and reinforce the credit union’s role as a caring, community-first financial partner.
Local businesses and individuals who wish to join in this effort can also contribute, helping expand the Foundation’s reach and deepen its impact right here in our own community. Every gift brings hope, healing, and strength to those who need it most.
