SCFCU's Franco Cusipag Joins St. Cloud Area Family YMCA Finance Board of Directors
St. Cloud Financial Credit Union continues to deepen its involvement throughout Central Minnesota and beyond, with its leaders and employees serving organizations that make a meaningful difference in the communities we call home.
The latest example of that commitment comes from SCFCU Chief Financial Officer Franco Cusipag, who has joined the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA Finance Board of Directors.
“I wanted an opportunity to help create a safe space for families in the St. Cloud area where they can stay active, be part of a community, and have that faith-based connection,” Cusipag said of joining the Board. “It lines up very nicely with my views on family and community.”
As part of the Finance Board of Directors, Cusipag hopes to use his more than two decades of experience to provide financial discipline and an understanding of private and public resources available throughout the community. Beyond the financial side of this new role, Cusipag has enjoyed getting to know other board members and the diverse experiences and perspectives they bring to the table.
SCFCU has been partnering with the YMCA for years, a continued partnership that is centered around a shared passion for giving back to the St. Cloud area and Central Minnesota community. In 2025, SCFCU committed $420,000 in support of the YMCA’s outdoor water park project, which will expand the YMCA’s outdoor recreation opportunities for St. Cloud area families.
Cusipag joining the Finance Board of Directors represents another way SCFCU is putting its commitment to community into action — both with the YMCA and beyond — while extending involvement beyond the walls of the credit union and into organizations creating lasting impact for the people and communities we serve.
“We’ve already contributed monetary resources, but now we’re also contributing our time and talent,” Cusipag said. “We want to make sure the mission, and our contribution, can go even further.”
With more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, Cusipag joined SCFCU as CFO in 2023 and has since helped guide the credit union’s continued growth and long-term strategy. In 2025, Cusipag was recognized for his work as a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal CFO of the Year honoree.
