St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is proud to announce it is contributing $420,000 to the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA in its work to build a new state-of-the-art outdoor water park in St. Cloud.

The St. Cloud Area Family YMCA is in the planning process of providing a new outdoor water park in St. Cloud, providing a vibrant, family-friendly destination to bring community members together and give kids and adults alike a place to laugh, play and connect. The project is designed with the community in mind and is an investment in the future of St. Cloud while enriching relationships and fostering community for all.

“SCFCU and the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA are similar in that we are both mission-driven organizations who want to give back and support our communities,” said SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer. “This commitment in support of the new outdoor water park is important to SCFCU because it is an investment into the future of St. Cloud and the surrounding communities we are proud to serve. Together, we can build a better tomorrow throughout the community, and we are proud to support the YMCA in that shared mission.”

SCFCU has leveraged its partnership with FHLB of Des Moines and its Member Impact Fund matching grant to come to the contribution total to support the YMCA Outdoor Water Park Capital Campaign and the YMCA’s efforts to providing a long-time community desire and need for an outdoor water park such as this.

As a credit union, SCFCU believes in investing in what matters most: people. The support for the YMCA Outdoor Water Park is part of the credit union's larger commitment to building inclusive spaces where every person — regardless of background, income, or ability — can experience belonging and joy. Whether it's supporting youth development, cultural celebrations, or economic equity initiatives, SCFCU actively helps to create a community where all individuals and families have access to opportunity, wellness, and connection.

The partnership between SCFCU and the YMCA will not only support the overall project but will result in a partnership to provide birthday experiences at the YMCA for children and their families.

“At the YMCA, we are dedicated to giving back to our community and providing families, friends and community members with a safe space to gather and create lasting memories. This new state-of-the-art water park fulfills a long-time desire in our community and will only help strengthen our community,” said Greg Gack, Executive Director of St. Cloud Area Family YMCA. “We are thankful for St. Cloud Financial Credit Union’s partnership in this project and their shared commitment to investing in our community.”
