SCFCU, Members Support Area Students with Donation to St. Cloud Area School District 742
St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, with the help from its members, is helping make a meaningful difference for local students with a donation to St. Cloud Area School District 742 and its Ready, Set, School Program.
SCFCU presented St. Cloud Area School District 742 with a donation of $7,730 on Oct. 20, a commitment that began with a donation from the credit union to assist with purchasing school supplies and grew into an even greater community impact thanks to credit union members who participated in SCFCU’s annual Skip-A-Pay promotion in August and September.
Skip-A-Pay allowed members to skip a monthly loan payment over those two months, providing additional financial flexibility. This year, SCFCU pledged $15 for every skipped payment to support local schools through the Ready, Set, School program.
“At St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, we believe the greatest impact happens when our members, our credit union, and our community come together,” SCFCU President & CEO Jed Meyer said. “We're proud to support St. Cloud Area School District 742 and the work they're doing to make sure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”
The Ready, Set, School program helps ensure students across St. Cloud Area School District 742 have access to the essential school supplies they need to succeed in the classroom. For the 2026-27 school year, the initiative expanded to provide supplies for preschool through fifth-grade classrooms throughout the district, helping ease the financial burden on families and ensuring students have the tools they need from day one.
SCFCU is a proud supporter of St. Cloud Area School District 742 and this program while ensuring every student has the necessary supplies needed to learn, grow and succeed. This summer, some SCFCU employees spent the day volunteering at St. Cloud Tech High School helping pack school supplies as kids got ready to head back to school.
“When our community comes together to support students, it makes a meaningful difference in our classrooms. We are incredibly grateful to St. Cloud Financial Credit Union and its members for their generosity and continued commitment to our schools,” St. Cloud Area School District 742 Superintendent Laurie Putnam said. “Partnerships like this are a great reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work together to support the next generation.”
The donation reflects SCFCU's ongoing commitment to supporting local, supporting local education, investing in future generations and finding meaningful ways to strengthen our community alongside members.
“We are committed to supporting local students, and our members helped us take that commitment even further,” Meyer said. “That's what being a local credit union is all about. Our members aren't just part of our credit union — they're part of the difference we're making right here in our community.”
