Our Community, Our Impact: SCFCU’s Commitment to Giving Back

At St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, giving back isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are.

We believe giving back goes beyond financial support. SCFCU is committed to strengthening our members and communities we serve while giving back in more ways than through financial support — but by having boots on the ground in the community to serve our community in purposeful, meaningful ways.

As your local credit union, we remain dedicated to giving back and serving our communities via financial contributions, volunteer and community involvement, partnerships, financial wellness and more as we make a meaningful difference across communities.

Our Community. Our Impact.

Though SCFCU believes giving back goes beyond financial support, we are proud to help strengthen our members and communities that surround us financially.

Between 2023 and 2025, we have donated more than $332,100 to local organizations and initiatives that make a difference.

Key Financial Contributions:

  • $129,500+ donated directly by SCFCU

  • $24,400+ donated to non-profits by SCFCU and our members

  • $332,100+ total donated to local communities

These donations help support schools, non-profits, community events, and organizations that enrich the lives of those who live and work in our area. Every dollar given reflects our belief that when our community is stronger, we all are stronger.

“We believe that when our community is stronger, our members are stronger. And when our members are stronger, our credit union is stronger.” - SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer

Boots on the Ground: Serving Our Communities

SCFCU employees are proud to roll up their sleeves, get boots on the ground and serve their communities firsthand.

Volunteer Impact:

  • 5,600+ volunteer and community service hours by SCFCU employees in 2025

From parades, events, cultural celebrations, local service projects and more, SCFCU is always present and engaged, helping to make a tangible difference where it matters most.

Community Day: A Day Dedicated to Purpose

Each year, SCFCU brings its commitment to community to life through our annual Community Day, held in conjunction with Minnesota Credit Unions’ CU Forward Day. On this day, SCFCU branches are closed in honor of Columbus/Indigenous People’s Day, but SCFCU employees step away from their daily roles and come together to serve the community through hands-on volunteer work across Central Minnesota.

Community Day reflects the heart of who we are. SCFCU partners with local non-profits and organizations, supporting causes that strengthen neighborhoods and create lasting impact. In 2025, more than 80 employees volunteered at multiple locations, supporting numerous organizations across different areas of the region.

“Community Day is where we go do purposeful action within our community… It’s part of who we are — to be the fabric of the community here in St. Cloud and the surrounding areas.” - Jed Meyer

Beyond the impact made in the community, Community Day also brings our teams together. Employees from across the organization build connections, strengthen camaraderie, and work toward a shared purpose. As part of CU Forward Day, SCFCU is proud to stand alongside credit unions across Minnesota in making a positive difference through service, collaboration, and community-focused action.

Investing in Financial Wellness and Education

Another vital way SCFCU gives back is by empowering individuals through financial wellness education. We believe financial wellness is foundational to strong communities, and we’re committed to helping people of all ages build confidence in managing their finances.

Financial Education Impact:

  • 61+ schools sponsored

  • 236+ teachers served

  • 17,000+ students educated

SCFCU employees regularly partner with schools and community groups to provide educational sessions on earning, saving, spending, budgeting, investing and planning for retirement — helping students, families and adults make informed financial decisions now and in the future.

To further expand access to financial education, SCFCU proudly partners with Banzai, an award-winning financial literacy program used nationwide. Banzai offers interactive, real-world financial lessons through engaging online activities and games, helping learners build healthy financial habits in a fun and accessible way.

The program is available for free and offers courses for a wide range of age groups — from elementary students learning money basics to teens preparing for adulthood, college planning, career exploration, and even parents teaching financial literacy at home. With flexible, online access, Banzai allows individuals and families to learn anytime, anywhere.

Committed to Community—Today and Tomorrow

Whether through donations, event participation, volunteer service, Community Day, financial education, or more, SCFCU is proud to invest and give back to members and communities we serve.

When you and our communities thrive, we all grow stronger. SCFCU is honored to play a role in that journey and contribute to building a stronger future for all.
