SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru Team Up To Donate Over $10,000 To Sartell High School To Help Tackle Cancer
St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, alongside St. Cloud Subaru, proudly presented Sartell High School with a check worth more than $10,000 on Nov. 19 from donations to support the fight to tackle cancer.
SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru once again teamed up in 2024 to sponsor Sartell football’s annual Tackle Cancer game on Oct. 11 against St. Cloud Tech. Thanks to donations from the surrounding community and money raised throughout the game, over $10,400 was raised to support two great causes, surpassing last year’s total of just over $10,000.
All proceeds raised during the Tackle Cancer game are supporting two impactful organizations: the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund and TriUnity Foundation.
“At SCFCU, we believe in the power of community, the importance of giving back, and taking purposeful action within our community. Supporting cancer research is not just a cause, but it makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many,” said Jed Meyer, SCFCU President and CEO. “The outcome of all this money raised is goodness in our community. United, we can make a difference in coming together to support those who are fighting cancer or other illnesses.”
The Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund supports the cancer community through funding research, prevention, treatment and other programs related to the needs of the community. This organization was founded by former KARE-11 News anchor Randy Shaver, who has been a long-time supporter and advocate for cancer research and the Minnesota cancer community.
TriUnity Foundation is a new first-of-its kind foundation to the credit union industry that empowers hope, healing and strength to individuals and families facing terminal illness. The foundation’s mission is to eliminate the strain of debt for individuals battling a terminal illness and is committed to providing meaningful financial relief to help individuals and families navigate this difficult season with hope and resilience. TriUnity Foundation is a DBA of St. Cloud Financial Foundation and was founded by SCFCU.
“We’re very fortunate that in Sartell, our community, our stakeholders like Jed Meyer from St. Cloud Financial Credit Union and Bobby Konnight from St. Cloud Subaru, they care about Sartell High School and they care about our community,” said Bruce Thompson, Sartell Activites & Athletics Director. “I think that shows with everything they’ve done.”
