SCFCU Named Celebrate Your Story Winner for Meaningful Difference Program, Community Involvement
St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is proud to announce it has been recognized for its ongoing commitment to making a meaningful different in its members’ lives and within the communities it serves.
SCFCU has been named as one of Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union’s Celebrate Your Story winners for its Meaningful Difference Program and ongoing efforts to support the community. SCFCU was one of 250 credit unions selected across the country.
“Making a meaningful difference isn't just something we talk about at SCFCU — it's something our employees put into action every single day,” SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer said. “Whether it's going above and beyond to make a positive impact in a member's life or giving back to the communities that have supported us for nearly a century, we believe the little things can make a lasting difference.
“This recognition is a testament to our entire organization, our incredible employees and the commitment to putting people first,” Meyer said. “We're honored to receive this award and proud to continue finding new ways to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Launched to celebrate Alloya’s 15th anniversary, Celebrate Your Story highlights and shares the stories of credit unions who demonstrate the credit union difference by helping members achieve financial goals and bringing the cooperative spirit to life.
In the coming months, Alloya will name its Next Chapter Award winners, a monthly award that aims to highlight credit unions that exemplify the power of cooperation by making positive impacts on both their members and their communities.
Making a Meaningful Difference
Throughout the year, SCFCU encourages employees to recognize opportunities to make a positive impact in members’ lives. Since 2015, the Meaningful Difference Program has given SCFCU employees the autonomy to act on those opportunities and make tangible differences in the lives of the people they interact with and serve every day.
This program allows employees to respond to members’ individual circumstances in ways that go beyond traditional financial services. Whether it’s surprising a member with a thoughtful gift, offering extra support during difficult times, or celebrating a personal milestone together, the Meaningful Difference Program gives employees the flexibility to connect with members in a truly personal way.

SCFCU’s dedication to making a difference reaches far beyond its branches. From supporting local schools and youth athletics to partnering with nonprofit organizations and participating in community events, the credit union continues to invest time and resources in giving back to the local community.
In 2025 alone, SCFCU contributed more than $129,500 to local organizations and over 5,600 volunteer and community service hours. Between 2023-25, SCFCU has donated more than $332,100 to the local community. Together, these efforts help local organizations expand their reach, continue to be a crucial part of the community, and expand their reach throughout Central Minnesota.
SCFCU’s selection as a Celebrate Your Story winner recognizes the work happening both inside and outside of SCFCU’s branches.
From giving employees the opportunity to support members through the Meaningful Difference Program, to contributing time and resources to local organizations and communities, these efforts demonstrate how SCFCU puts the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” into practice.
