Our Community. Our Impact. — How SCFCU Gives Back
At St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, giving back means more than financial support. It means showing up, getting involved and finding meaningful ways to serve the communities we call home.
That commitment is part of who we are as a local credit union. From financial contributions and community partnerships to thousands of hours spent volunteering, we believe strengthening our communities helps strengthen the people and families who live in them.
Making an Impact Beyond Banking
Our commitment to the community extends well beyond the walls of our branches.
From 2023 through 2025, SCFCU donated more than $332,100 to local communities. In 2025 alone, SCFCU directly donated more than $129,500, while SCFCU and our members contributed more than $24,400 to nonprofit organizations.
Our employees also contributed more than 5,600 volunteer and community service hours in 2025, giving their time and talents to organizations and causes throughout the communities we serve.
Those numbers are something we’re proud of, but the real impact comes from the people and organizations behind them.
One Day, Whole Lot of Impact
One of the ways our team puts that commitment into action is through our annual Community Day.
On Oct. 12, our branches will be closed for Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples Day, but our employees will be spending the day out in the community completing hands-on volunteer projects with local organizations. It’s an opportunity for our team to step away from our regular day-to-day work and put our mission of “purposeful action within our community” into practice.
This year, SCFCU employees will be serving organizations including:
Chapel Thrift
Joah’s Ark
Anna Marie’s Alliance
YMCA of St. Cloud
Sartell Community Center
Good Shepherd
Whether we’re helping organize donations, working on outdoor projects, supporting programs or tackling other needs, Community Day gives our employees another opportunity to make a tangible difference together.
Part of Something Bigger
SCFCU’s Community Day is also part of CU Forward Day, an initiative that brings credit unions across multiple states together to give back to their local communities.
It’s a reflection of one of the core ideas behind the credit union movement: people helping people.
While each credit union may serve its own community in a different way, CU Forward Day demonstrates what can happen when credit unions collectively put that philosophy into action.
Why Community Day Matters
Community Day is about more than a single day of volunteering.
It’s about showing up. It’s about serving others. And it’s about strengthening the communities where our members and employees live, work and raise their families.
“We believe that when our community is stronger, our members are stronger. And when our members are stronger, our credit union is stronger.”
That belief guides not only Community Day, but SCFCU’s broader approach to community involvement throughout the year.
From financial contributions to volunteer hours to time spent serving alongside local organizations, we’re proud to invest in the communities we call home.
Because being 100% local means being there for our community in more ways than one.
