Nominations Open For SCFCU's 2026 Changemakers Awards
A decade ago, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union President and CEO Jed Meyer saw an opportunity to celebrate positive change in our community and established a program called Changemakers.
This annual program invites people to nominate someone who is making positive change and doing great things within the community. Since its inception, Changemakers has recognized hundreds of people who have made a meaningful difference in St. Cloud and the surrounding area.
A year ago, Jeff Boike, Adrian Washington and Julie Leikvoll were our three finalists, with Boike being named the winner of the 2025 Changemakers Award.
In 2026, Changemakers is back and nominations open May 1 to give the general public an opportunity to recognize the well-known or unsung heroes in our surrounding communities.
“As a credit union, we focus on human connection. We want to recognize all the good in our community, because we know there is so much good happening from all over,” SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer said. “Changemakers is a celebration of all that is right in our surrounding communities and this program helps us find the hidden gems and accelerate that goodness.”
Nominations will be open for six weeks, spanning from May 1 to June 12. A nominator can nominate up to three different individuals over the nomination period, but one nominee per entry.
Once the nominations period has concluded, finalists will be chosen from the list of nominations by a panel of judges, with three finalists being announced in June and an eventual 2026 Changemakers Award winner being announced during a Changemakers Awards Ceremony in September. All three finalists will receive prizes and will be recognized at the ceremony, while all nominees and nominators will be invited and recognized at the event as well.
