SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru Teaming Up with Sartell and Becker in the Fight Against Cancer

St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is proud to once again be teaming up with St. Cloud Subaru during the 2026-27 school year in the fight against cancer and raising money for those who need it most.

For the fourth year, SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru have partnered with Sartell Athletics for a trio of cancer awareness games spanning from the fall and into the winter.

But this year, those efforts are also traveling to Becker, with SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru partnering with Becker Athletics to support its annual Tackle Cancer game in September.

Proceeds raised through merchandise sales, raffle tickets or other donations during each od the games goes to support two great causes: Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund and TriUnity Foundation. Both organizations aim to assist and support the cancer community and those facing terminal illnesses.

The Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund aims to assist and support the cancer community in Minnesota by funding research, prevention, treatment and more. TriUnity Foundation, a nationwide foundation created by SCFCU, aims to eliminate the debt for individuals and families experiencing terminal illness, including cancer.

“We are excited to continue to expand this partnership in the hopes of bringing even more people together for this impactful cause and supporting those who are fighting cancer or other terminal illnesses,” said SCFCU President and CEO Jed Meyer. “We know that when our communities come together, we can truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.”

Sartell Cancer Awareness Games

Over the last three years, SCFCU, St. Cloud Subaru and the Sartell Sabres have raised over $30,000 in support of the two impactful causes, with the partnership expanding to three cancer awareness games last year.

After raising $10,117 in 2025-26, this partnership with the Sartell and surrounding communities will once again feature three games this school year, taking place during Sartell football, Sartell volleyball and Sartell boys hockey.

“What we have accomplished together as a community over the last few years has made such an impact, and we’re proud to once again partner with St. Cloud Subaru and Sartell Athletics to unite and raise funds in the fight against cancer,” Meyer said. “Our Sartell community showed up and packed the stands in pink at all three games last year, and we can’t wait to rally behind our student-athletes and support two great causes.”

This year, Sartell football’s Tackle Cancer game will be on Sept. 25, Sartell volleyball’s Dig Pink night will take place Oct. 13 and Sartell boys hockey’s Stick it to Cancer night will be on Jan. 12. Fans who attend those events will not only help raise money in the fight against cancer, but will have the opportunity to be entered into a drawing for three great prizes during each game. Pink Sartell Sabres shirts are available for purchase at the Sartell Activities Office, and shirts, jerseys, hats, accessories and more will also be sold at each game.

“We’re very fortunate to have the continued support of St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, St. Cloud Subaru and our entire community as we unite and help raise awareness for such an important cause,” said Bruce Thompson, Sartell Activities & Athletics Director. “It’s incredible that we’ve been able to raise over $30,000 the last few years in the fight against cancer and we look forward to continuing to raise funds for some incredible causes this year.”

Becker Tackle Cancer

A long-time supporter and sponsor of Becker Athletics, SCFCU is proud to expand its cancer awareness partnership with St. Cloud Subaru to Becker football this year.

The Bulldogs will hold their Tackle Cancer game on Sept. 18 as the program also honors and celebrates the legacy of legendary head coach Dwight Lundeen, who will retire at the end of the season after 57 years leading the program. Over his years as coach, Lundeen has been an advocate for cancer research and nights like Becker’s annual Tackle Cancer game.

“We are very excited to expand our impact while partnering with the Becker Bulldogs to help tackle cancer this year,” Meyer said. “It’s especially meaningful to be part of this year’s game as we celebrate the final season the legendary Dwight Lundeen and the lasting impact he has made on the community. We hope to celebrate Dwight by rallying together and not only packing the stands to cheer on the Bulldogs but also raising funds for an impactful cause.”

Fans who attend the game will not only help raise money in the fight against cancer, but will be entered into a drawing for three prizes given out during halftime. There will be pink Becker Bulldogs shirts available for purchase at Becker High School and will also be sold during the game as well.
