SCFCU Teams Up with St. Cloud Subaru, Sartell High School to Help Tackle Cancer

St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is proud to have teamed up with St. Cloud Subaru and Sartell High School in 2024 in the fight to tackle cancer while raising money for cancer research.

After a successful Tackle Cancer game that saw over $10,000 raised in 2023, SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru once again teamed up to sponsor Sartell football’s annual Tackle Cancer game on Oct. 11 against St. Cloud Tech.

“At SCFCU, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Supporting cancer research is not just a cause, but it makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many,” said Jed Meyer, SCFCU President and CEO. “The outcome of all of the money raised is goodness in our community. That’s purposeful action within our community, and that’s what St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is all about. United, we can make a difference in coming together to support those who are fighting cancer or other diseases.”

Thousands of fans packed the Sartell Football Field and filled the stadium in pink in support of two great organizations and causes. Those in attendance and wearing pink to the game also received raffle tickets upon entry, which entered them into a drawing for a chance of winning one of three great prizes at halftime on behalf of SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru.

This year, proceeds raised through merchandise sales, raffle tickets or other donations support two great causes in the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund and TriUnity Foundation. Both organizations aim to assist and support the cancer community and those facing terminal illnesses. At halftime, Meyer and Konnight announced that SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru would match the total money raised in 2024.

“We’re extremely lucky,” said Bruce Thompson, Sartell Activities & Athletics Director. “We’re very fortunate that in Sartell, our community, our stakeholders like Jed Meyer from St. Cloud Financial Credit Union and Bobby Konnight from St. Cloud Subaru, they care about Sartell High School and they care about our community. I think that shows with everything they’ve done.”
