SCFCU Helps Raise Food and Funds During 15th Annual Pack the Porches
St. Cloud Financial Credit Union strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our members and communities, and just one avenue of doing that is by taking part in the annual Pack the Porches food and fund drive.
SCFCU once again partnered with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud and others across the St. Cloud area by hosting a Pack the Porches food and fund drive, benefiting Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf.
Throughout the month of March, SCFCU’s St. Cloud, Sartell and Sauk Rapids branch locations collected nonperishable food items via donation boxes. On March 28, the SCFCU Sartell branch again served as one of the three Pack the Porches curbside drop-off locations, collecting items donated and dropped off by members of the community.
During the six-hour Pack the Porches event, Catholic Charities received 6,437 pounds of food and $21,291 in donated funds. Coborn’s matched all food and fund donations up to $15,000.
Catholic Charities, which is celebrating 15 years of this event, serves people across the heart of Central Minnesota with more than 30 programs that aim to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and families of all faiths and beliefs.
The annual event increases awareness of food insecurity within the St. Cloud area and all donations remain local but count towards a statewide effort to help stock the shelves of every food shelf in the state.
Donations in support of Catholic Charities and this food and fund drive are still being accepted online at ccstcloud.org/giving and through NetGiver, which gives 100% of your donation to the charity of your choice.
